Health Tech and Space Sprint

Due: April 20, 2023

A famous actor, who portrayed a futuristic space captain and later became an actual astronaut, once described space as the final frontier. From exploration and research to manufacturing and potential off-world settlements, humanity is making those immortal worlds a reality through modern technologies.

Access to space provides unique opportunities to create and refine technologies that provide benefit astronauts and Earth-dwellers alike, including in the areas of health and medicine. BryceTech, a leading technology management and acquisition support company for public and private sector clients, wants to facilitate opportunities to develop technological advances at the intersection of health and space.

BryceTech is interested in emerging technologies and new concepts that leverage the space environment to transform health for astronauts or terrestrial populations. Potential pathways of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Biotechnology
  • Bioprinting and Biomanufacturing
  • Diagnostics
  • Microgravity Grown Organs
  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Sensors
  • Telehealth & Remote Monitoring

All proposed innovations should either be intended for use in space or take advantage of some aspect of the space environment to benefit terrestrial applications. Technologies proposed are not required to have been used in space previously.

Technologies of all maturities are of interest. Responses from academics are also welcome.

BryceTech will invite select respondents to a pitch event to be held at the TechConnect World Innovation Conference in June 2023. This session will allow individuals and companies with promising technologies to present their innovative technology to an audience of diverse range of health and space experts, both inside and outside of government, as well as representatives from venture capital firms.

Additionally, BryceTech will facilitate networking between their private and public sector clients and select respondents with the aim of fostering further collaborative opportunities. Furthermore, Advanced Technology International (ATI), TechConnect’s parent company, will provide potential engagement through their consortia. To learn more about ATI’s consortia, please visit the collaborations tab on ATI’s homepage.

To learn more about this exciting opportunity, please join the informational webinar to be held on March 22, 2023 at 2pm Eastern. This webinar will feature representatives from BryceTech and TechConnect with a focus on questions from attendees.

The goal of this sprint is to support technology discovery and identify opportunities for innovators to engage with client networks.
