ABSTRACT

Our client, a global beverage company, seeks experts in encapsulation technologies. The client is interested in all encapsulation approaches from the food industry, as well as technologies adapted from other industries. Business opportunities include a broad range of engagement possibilities.

BACKGROUND

TechConnect’s client is a global leader in beverages with dozens of well-known brands. The client is interested in utilizing encapsulation technologies to improve the solubility of ingredients and the overall stability of their products, as well as to allow for the slow release of ingredients.

To that end, the client wants to collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) having experience in relevant encapsulation techniques for protecting ingredients such as bioactive compounds, flavors, and preservatives.

All encapsulation approaches are potentially of interest. Submissions promoting specific encapsulation hardware or software may be considered if significant expertise is also available.

Expertise with encapsulation for beverages is highly sought but all relevant experience with encapsulation for food applications will be considered. Experience with encapsulation for low pH beverages is a bonus.

The client is open to many forms of engagement with relevant SMEs. Initial engagements will focus on consultation, but the client may also explore other collaborations including proof of concept testing and joint development in the future. While the client maintains state-of-the-art production technologies in-house, experts who also offer unique technologies may be considered for licensing opportunities.

Encapsulation approaches from outside the food industry are potentially of interest, including ones originating from dental or pharmaceutical uses.

The goal of this sprint is to facilitate contact and interactions between the Sprint sponsor and commercial entities (including startups), technology developers or research organization/ university in this space.
