The Joint Science and Technology Office (JSTO), within the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), is responsible for addressing potential threats to the armed forces posed by a broad range of chemical, biological, radiological, and toxin agents. This project seeks to identify and evaluate promising technologies for Department of Defense (DoD) use. The subsequent Project Agreement will mandate that the Project Agreement Holder (PAH) shall identify innovative technologies and achieve early proof-of-concept within the project’s duration. These technologies shall demonstrate significant potential for accelerated or optimized Medical Countermeasure (MCM) development, and subsequent transition to JSTO or JSTO partners. Staying ahead of an evolving threat landscape requires incorporating novel approaches to ensure a robust, agile, and efficient MCM development pipeline. Technologies of interest are those aimed at significantly enhancing MCM performance, accelerating development timelines, and improving success rate and speed of response to biological threats.
Responding to this opportunity requires membership in the Medical CBRN Defense Consortium. This Consortium releases numerous solicitations throughout the year, so even if this opportunity may not end up being right for you, we strongly encourage you to join, so you are ready for the next opportunity.
